THE AIRPORT OF THE FUTURE

The project creates a new space for the future and it takes its name as “Transport Station”. The proposal for the future is gathering all stations under one celling and allowed to create a network between seperate transportation systems. So the challenge for the project organising different transportation networks.

The project presents a new innovation for the future airports which is “Unit” system. PLANE UNITS will work as self-contained agents which have passport, ticket, passenger controls and baggage claims, while other areas, shops, cafes, banks, ticket salers, etc., will be located on the passing ways of the passengers. Organisation of this system was made under lighting of the ant colonies. Their coordinations, flock movement, swarm emergency started the process and the swarm movement inteligence was followed at each steps of design process.

Ant colonies has their own algorithm to find their ways and this system create flock movement without any necessary to overcontrol. So the nature of their movements says the emergent movement and it was compared with the movement in the site. The result gave all the solutions; how people come to site, how they move in the site, and the density in the site.

So “Transport Station” will create new innovations for the future with the helping of parametric desing diciplines, and ant colonies.
